Insurance and hospitals suck!!
So as you guys know, JJ was in the hospital back in July. Well, the freaking insurance claim from the hospital visit still has not been paid. They said they needed an authorization notice. Well, they got the authorization notice like 2 days later. I called CIGNA and they said the claim was being resubmitted. This was like late July. So here I am calling CIGNA like two times a week to see if the claim has been paid yet. Nobody there seems to know anything. Some people can find the claim, others can’t. Some people say the authorization form has been received; others say it hasn’t. Some people say the claim has been resubmitted; other’s say it hasn’t. So I call today. I was on the phone for 30 freaking minutes. Ridiculous! If I hadn’t called, the claim never would have been resubmitted. ARGH!!!! Well, now it’s going to take a minimum of 15 business days to process–that’s 3 more weeks. Sheesh! All my other claims are processed in like a week. Give me a break! I’ll need to call the hospital billing department back and let them know how long it’s going to take to process because they are under the impression that the claim was resubmitted like 2 or 3 weeks ago because I told them it was because CIGNA said it was. Can you tell I’m annoyed?
Then I take JJ for his CT scan today and they can’t find his paperwork. It’s not up front in admitting like it should be so I had to wait for the girl to look through all her papers for like 10 minutes before she decided to call radiology and ask them–which of course it was there. Couldn’t she of just did that when it wasn’t where it was supposed to be in the first place? I got there at 12:25 for a 1 pm appointment and all the beaurecratic stuff made me late for the appointment! The baby did good on his scan though. He was really still throughout the whole thing and even fell asleep because of the whooshing sound of the machine. We’ll get results back later this week. What a trooper!

I am so sorry. I know the feeling. I just paid off my son’s hospital bill from last years ER visit….I mean JUST paid it off about a year later. And what happens this weekend? We’re back in the ER with more tests and high bills to pay off again. I have new insurance though this time, so I hope they don’t pull on me what you’ve gone through with yours. Yikes!
