The beginning of us.

Us on our big day.
Bryan and I met in early 2004 on a job-site in Vancouver, Wa. It was kind of hard not to notice the big, blonde drywall finisher singing ” my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard…” As I guess I wasn’t hard to notice as one of the only women on a construction site telling a crew of low-voltage electricians what to do.

We began dating at the end of March and by September when my apt. lease was up we were living together. I think both of us knew this was it. This was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. He was everything I had thought of in a partner, husband, and friend (plus a little extra goofiness of course) . We slowly and surely began to build a life together and talked of marriage. Just as I began to think when is he going to propose, he did! On my birthday exactly 2 years and 2 days after our first date. In front of a few friends and my family he brought out a cake that read ” Will you marry me?”. The ring sticking up out of the frosting. I was so surprised! I was so happy! It was creative and the kind of proposal that fit me to a T. It was so sweet. Afterwards he told me how he had been avoiding me because he was so nervous. That’s when I noticed he had spent a lot of time hanging around my nephew, Samuel that day. I bet it had been completely nerve racking, even though he had to have known I wouldn’t of said anything but YES!!

So it was time for planning! My Mom and I, mostly Mom, thank the heavens for my Mom, go to it. On August 19, 2006 we were married in Lake Tahoe. Our ceremony took place at a park on the Lake and it was
absolutely beautiful, right there on the Nevada, California border. One of the best days of my life.
